The purpose of the Anna Maria Island Historical Society is to educate the public by bringing the history of Anna Maria Island to them. Members go to schools, churches and civic organizations and present programs on the early days of the Island. A museum, with free admission, is open to the public. Included in the exhibits are artifacts, pictures, charts, maps and newspaper articles and videos dealing with the history of the Island.
